Carnes - 2/6/24 - Phillip's Park Golf Course Birdhouses
The only way to acquire the rank of Eagle Scout is by serving the needs of your community. Colin searched to find a project that would solve a problem and fill a need of an organization in his community. He answered the clarion call by constructing 19 birdhouses for the Phillip's Park Golf Course in Aurora, IL. After 85 hours including planning, acquiring materials, construction, lining up volunteers, trips to Home Depot, Menards, overcoming setbacks, and unforeseen life events. Colin Did it!
Gatling - 9/17/24 - Bridge to the Future
Louis' Eagle project, "Bridge to the Future", involved redesigning a ceremonial crossing bridge in support of the DuPage AME Girl Scout troops. The Girl Scout bridging ceremony is a celebration that honors a Girl Scout's achievements and marks their transition to the next level in Girl Scouting. Louis saw the need to support his sister, as well as the Girl Scout troops, by reconstructing a bridge for them that would support Brownies through Ambassadors. The requirements for the bridge included versatile railings, safety steps, and collapsible capability to allow them flexibility regarding when and where to set up. Louis wanted to ensure that the bridge was sustainable and future Girls Scouts would have a quality physical bridge as part of the ceremony.
Beulah - 3/22/22 - Heart Haven Outreach (H2O) Storage Optimization
My Eagle Project was to benefit the Heart Haven Outreach (H2O) Organization in Bolingbrook, IL. Currently this organization serves 400 students, providing tutoring, support groups, and recreational activities. Currently, they have a number of closets with craft supplies, office supplies, and books. They do not know exactly what is inside the closets, and when they get donations from the public they don't know where to put them. My project was to first, inventory their current supplies which are stored in closets, organize the closets and create a database for the staff to use to enter in new supply items and items donated. The system will also allow staff to input items taken out of the closets to keep track of what the organization needs and what it does not need.
Leading teams to inventory and organize the organization's closets.

Presenting results and database inventory to the H2O organization.

Happy H2O team members!
